We Ponder Home by We Ponder

The We Ponder home project took shape on the outskirts of Hobart, in a serene small town called Sorell surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. Owner and designer, Rose from We Ponder worked in collaboration with two architecture firms – Align Architecture & Saxon Hall Architecture to design the home.

They opted for a rectangular layout that gracefully incorporated unique design elements, including a sunken lounge and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, raw sawn Tasmanian Oak cladding to the exterior seamlessly merging functionality with panoramic views. The home’s symbiotic relationship with nature is a standout feature, where the home was lucky enough to be positioned facing north which allows the light to flood the interiors year-round, soaking the polished concrete floors with warmth. The design encapsulates the Mid-Century Modern ethos, blending comfort and aesthetics on a modest budget.
