Sans-Arc's Ainslie House

Ainslie House is a reimagining of the original home on this site, which was demolished by the ACT Government as part of the Loose-fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme, which offered to buy and demolish homes affected by dangerous asbestos insulation.

Sans-Arc Studio is an innovative, award-winning architecture practice that is known for designing playful, social and environmental spaces with ‘good vibes’.

The new build abides by the conforms of its heritage location by occupying the same footprint (127 sqm) and mirroring the external appearance of the original home.

The internal spaces contrast the cool exterior with warm tones and natural timber used throughout.

Super Collection hardware, co-designed by Sans-Arc Director Matiya, is used throughout, and gives the reinterpreted home a distinctly modern element.
